Yummy things

I am trying to cut back on the amount of wheat based products I eat - being a carbohydrate  lover ( read bread and anything with flour, whole wheat, rye or oat) this is difficult. my age and  tummy pain make me realize it is time to turn around how I eat. Who wants to be in pain every time they eat pasta!
I found this super yummy  gluten free brown rice pasta at Bloor market and both Jay and Emma like the family friendly ( ready not horrible on your budget) pasta.

I have used this in multiple dishes now, from meatball ls with sauce, to summer pasta salad -- never disappointed (read no stomach pain)

I have been trying new products, that are AFFORDABLE , in hopes I will also find products my family will like.

Hubby doesn't love rice crisps of any kind, but always takes a bite. Emma like me - enjoys them.  These PC ones are great, again a PC brand, I think they know they corner the market here on price.

The Thai Kitchen Spring Onion soup is vegan friendly, gluten free, and ready in minutes - I enjoyed this soup at lunch today!

I am going to try a summer with out eating out lunch, as I find it hard to avoid the yummy treats around me when I go out. This means from this point forward I will be trying some new recipe's and food products..

If you find something yummy, family budget friendly let me know - or if you have a great Flour free brownie recipie please share!

Happy Eating.. Happy Tummy!

My little guy is on a gluten-free diet, and this is the best bread recipe I've found, by far:

http://mennonitegirlscancook.blogspot.com/2008/11/best-gluten-free-bread.html

The key seems to be lots of leavening, and white bean flour. I also adapted my fudge brownie recipe for him, so I'll dig that recipe out and send it to you--no one in the house realized I'd made any changes to it!

Good luck. I got my brother (who had a lot of digestive issues and was hyperactive as a child) to try going wheat-free and he said it has literally changed his life. No more pain!

I am back on my medication, but I believe this is going to make a big difference for me to. I found some bread that I like but it is $6 a loaf! I will try that out. Thanks so much!

I knew you would have something for me!

so excited at the thought of brownies!
