My City, My home

I understand that all voices need to be head, and sometimes that means those voices get loud. The protester's message has been lost in Toronto, as the black bloc tactics used by criminals in our city crash windows , burn cars and cause destruction on our streets.

Toronto is not the most beautiful city in the world,  but it is my home and the home to millions. It makes me sad that people would come here to cause such destruction and grief.  The world is seeing a city I have never seen - not in my entire life.

Thank you  to the police officers who are keeping us safe and doing the best they can, Also thanks to city workers - parts of the city already look cleaned up again and back to normal.

As another day of the G20 dawns , remember by meeting face to face, our world leaders are showing that they can meet and discuss different world issues  and attempt to unite fiscally on some causes,  and to demonstrate that as a planet we can unite. Face to face meetings with different nations allow us to put faces to other human beings on this planet - yes the cost is huge.. but the cost of war is so much more. The G20 is about many things, and so many voices could have been peacefully heard -- that would have been the Canadian way,  the T.O way.

Everyone has a cause they will support, every nation has a different agenda. We must demonstrate unity on world issues, so that we can move forward as humans, and we  can move forward towards a peaceful world, a cleaner world, and a world where children, men and woman are all protected and safe. If we don't meet face to face - these things won't happen.

Peace and Patience , Protest with you voices not your weapons

Great post! I am disgusted with the violence and destruction. It isn't a fair representation of the city, or of Canada as a whole, and it hasn't accomplished anything but to make protesters look like idiots. There are legitimate protests going on, but they're drowned out by all this crap.

I have not followed the goings on but the headlines, but it is interesting to hear a resident's side of the story. I hope things are quiet now.
I am enjoying reading your blog.
