As I adjust to the idea of the hearing loss, I have been looking deeper into what that means -- and in doing so I have reflected on the loss, but also how can I continue to experience the beauty of what I hear.. then it hit me.. my favourite sounds -- can also be found in pictures. By just looking at the picture I have a neruoconnection in my brain that "plays" the sound in my head -- here are a few of my favourite sounds..
The magical sound and sometimes haunting sounds of the violin:
Rain drops off the puddles ( this sound is gone now for me - I tried really hard to hear it yesturday -- but I can still hear it off the windows ) 
Jazz -- it is a wonderful world 
Laughter none of these photo's belong to me -- but they do demonstrate clearly what I mean about visually being able to see the sound.
I could include a picture of my daughter - her voice is a favourite sound of mine --- What are your Favourite sounds that can be SEEN?

Brilliant I love it - just pictured it :) for a Jays fan you would have that burned into your mind -- great image.
I love this post and it makes me think that the change you are undergoing need not be a loss but rather a realignment of your senses. You will now hear with your eyes and of course listen with your heart.
I'm just getting around to catching up on all the blogs I follow (what else is new?!!). Love the new blog!
My favourite sounds are acoustic guitar and my kids talking to me, even though I sometimes wish my oldest would STOP TALKING sometimes!!
