13.12.10

'Twas a few weeks before Christmas

'Twas a few weeks before Christmas
and all through my house,
not a thing could be found, not even a mouse,
The bags are all hidden, the hubby's gifts choosen with care
In hopes St. Nicholas will pay off the bills and all will be free and clear

Emma has snooped and guessed a present or two,
told me she knew what grandma got her too,
with Dad in his skates headed to the rink and me in my gym socks
hope faiza doesn't notice they stink!

When out on the lawn arouse such a clatter, the lights still not up
we forgot who has our ladder.
Away to the window I ran like a flash
seems the dog down the street has dumped over the trash

The moon on the breast of the fresh fallen snow,
reminds me I must shovel before I go
When what do I spot with my wandering eye
An ad on the bilboard  showing a beautiful blue sky.

But out of the corner of my eye I did see
a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be my neighbour Nick.
More rapid than eagles his car came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called me by name!
Hey Melanie, hope you have a great christmas, I'm off to the islands to enjoy
all the fishes ( okay lame but give me credit for trying)

For Faiza, and Vaso, Beth and Leanne
Are all headed out just liked they plan,
Leanne will arrive home slightly tanned,
Vaso will have spent many days walking in sand
Faiza will love the moments of joy
brought about by the family's new little boy.
And Beth will have fun, surrounded by love ones
and playing with the little girls new toy.

While I stay here in the snow.
snuggled tight  with my family I love so dear.
While we wait and watch for eight tiny reindeer

But alas all, the last entry for this year has come ,
for there is work  yet to be done
stockings to hang, presents to wrap. hot chocolate to drink,
List to check twice, goodies to bake.

With the talk of all the holiday prep to do
reminds me to send a message to you.

Merry Christmas to all, and my dear friends have safe flights!

In the days that come and the new year ahead,.....

May you all find joy in your hearts,  and work towards bringing Peace on Earth,
