Adventures in creativity

I use to make lots of bead things - about 5 years ago I stopped -- little hands, and mouthing and my box of beads was closed up and sent to a friend who would do something with the beads! She did do something, she held on to them until I wanted to be creative again, and they came home with me after a visit with her this weekend.  As I mentioned in my goals, I wanted to be creative, or crafty or something. So I have spent some time exploring what I use to like to do - making jewelery and taking pictures.

I thought I would share my recent adventures in creativity with you! This is my friend Maria in a picture I call "Happy Belly", she is almost 6 months pregnant. I use to do photograpy all the time, long before digital camera's and the photoshop programs , back when you did all the funky techniques by hand in the darkroom , and a good pictue started with a good shot. I think digital photograph is amazing, and I have no idea how to truely manipulate photo's this way, but I will teach myself and maybe take a course at a camera shop or something. Anyone who has ever been to my house knows, I love pictures, they cover my walls. So here are a couple of recent images I have been playing with.  Hope you enjoy.

How do you find creativity in your life, show me !

I'm a beader too, and I hear you on the little hands and mouths! I tend to flit from knitting/crochet to beading to digital photography to card-making to sewing (mostly bags and clothes). It depends on what I feel like doing at the time. Lately I've been sewing a lot. I'm trying to get around to posting pictures (and the award you gave me--bear with me! I haven't forgotten!). Recently, my brother's girlfriend taught me to paint with acrylics on canvas, so I now have a shelf full of stuff to do that too. Oh, if there were only about 6 more hours in my day. The creative things I could get accomplished!!

@knitwit I think this is so important, all moms have to
have something for themselves, while I talk about
it all the time with the parents I work with
I have not really given myself that joy. True me
time in my home to do what I love, outside of caring
for my family.

Melanie, your pictures are GORGEOUS!! I love the bleeding heart one and the "happy" stone. GREAT!! I guess I should share my creativity - I, a man, knit. It distracts me enough and calms me down. It is my off time and allows me to have instant gratification. The part I love the most, is that I get to share my creativity through making each item. It's entertainment for me and the gift of sharing. Who wouldn't want a hug from someone everyday? Well, my knitted items get to do that for me when I'm not around.

@misterpaolo - Hey there stranger! glad you joined us!! My grandmother taught me to knit when I was younger , but I am a better crochet kind of girl -- I love the idea of kniting, I had a knitted bedspread when I was younger -- would love to do that for Emma - but maybe this winter I will try it out -- I am going to be asking for tips!
