Real Hero's

I am  going to do a RANT today.. Tiger woods is a good athlete, a great golfer, a money maker. But seriously people -- when the head of a clearly conservative golf course (still no woman allowed at that particular cours) says he has disapointed the kids and they lost faith in a hero.I get my back up. He is not a hero, he doesn't have to be a role model. He just needs to play golf, and do it well. He, like ever other women and men in the world - is not perfect. But Hero status.. REALLY?

These are my hero's:
People who protect our homes, our way of life, even when it means being so far away from their own. Men now long gone in my family were these men , once upon a time. You don't have to agree to war or even the reasons for war - to support the troops.. they are doing the job , you didn't want to do. Because in our country we are lucky to have a choice.
The peacekeepers who go to places to teach, to rebuild to honour and support life.

Men and woman who fight to save the lives of those we love.

There are so many people we can teach our children to look up to.. I believe that everyday hero's are the ones we need to look up to, those that work for improving life for all -- not just for themselves. While many "famous" people have the ability due to the riduculous amounts of money they make - to make an impact on social issues -- it is the ones who are in the daily fight that sustain all of those efforts. I know that many people agree with me, and I am not alone in my RANT -- but actors, athletes, and society men and woman -- they are entertainment - one I enjoy -- but saying "Our children and grandchildren" have been let down because Tiger Woods cheated on his wife? People make choices - he made his , he owes us no explanations, none. If I watch Tiger Woods - it is because he can golf. Any child of mine, who thinks to be a good golfer you have to cheat on your wife -- well then I would have failed as a parent.

Celebrate the real heros - those that teach, that save lives, that love their children -- those people are the hero's we need to celebrate -- todays task = Thank someone who inspires you to be a better person.

Awesome post! My reaction to the Tiger Woods thing is "how is this any of my business?!" And a hero?! Give me a break!
My hero is currently driving and walking around Afghanistan to keep the world a safer place for his kids, and other people's. Tiger hits a ball with a club. There's really not much comparison!
